An Giang is part of the Mekong Delta rice basket. It also has corn and aquatic products as basa fish, shrimp, cuttle-fish, etc.

An Giang is renowned as traditional handicraft such as Tan Chau silk, Chau Doc fish sauce and other consumer products. There is a long-standing weaving industry of the Cham ethnic group.

Tourists should not miss the chance to visit the Oc-Eo relic site – a famous place known to many people inside the country and overseas.

It is a vast ancient site of the Funan Kingdom, a powerful nation in Southeast Asia area about two thousand years ago.

This site lies in the mountainous region of Nui Sap – Ba The in Thoai Son District, 30km from Long Xuyen.

Other famous sites and attractions include Sam Mountain in Chau Doc, Cam Mountain in Tien Binh, Tuc Dup Hill, grottoes network of Thuy Dai Son, Anh Vu Son, Co To, Bung Binh Thien, Tra Su forest, and many historical vestiges.

An Giang is famous for particular festivals as Lady Chua Xu Temple Festival (23rd to 27th days of the 4th lunar month), Ox Racing Festival of the Khmer (In the 9th lunar month, together with the Dolta Ceremony).
